Information We Have learned Since Patti Went Missing
Since Patti went missing on October 2nd, 2010 we have followed up on hundreds if not thousands of tips. We have learned quite a bit about Larry Pressley and his relationship with Patti Krieger. These are things we couldn't have known before she went missing. After Patti went missing, Larry refused to be cooperative with her family. Larry Pressley was in possession of Pattis drivers license and keys. Larrys friend back at her house was in possession of Pattis Cell phone. Larry waited four hours to report Patti missing. Pattis family wasn't notified until the next morning that their mother was missing. When Patti did not show up for her job at 4am the next day, her fellow co workers and friends tried to find out where she was. They ended up going to the job of her son, stating she had not made it to work. Her son made some phone calls and went to her residence. Upon getting to her residence they found suitcases of jewelry in the truck of a car and they found out she had went missing the night before. They found a friend of Larrys to be in posession of Patti Cell phone. They could not access her house, do to several Pitbulls being inside that appeared to not be friendly. Pattis son and her co workers headed for Sauk Mountain. Along with search and rescue, they set out on multiple searches of Sauk Mountain. The Skagit County Sheriffs Office brought in Search and Rescue from several counties to search for Patti. They brought in FLIR cameras and a helicopter. She was not found, either was her dog, Bear. The Sheriffs Office called off the search, stating they did not believe Patti was on the mountain. Pattis Friends and co workers continued to search. Eventually they had to give up daily searches. Twenty six (26) days later, her dog, Bear was found in Rockport, Washington, wandering the Sauk Mountain road near milepost 3-4. Was he there the whole time or was he placed back on the mountain? Pattis son, co workers and friends, continued searching for her and following up on any tips they received about her whereabouts. They searched Sauk Mountain, Road by road. They searched on foot, via helicopter, via quads and in personal vehicles. Nothing was found. A couple weeks after Patti went missing, friends of Patti went to her home, where Larry Pressley and his friends were still living to notify him that they started a missing persons Facebook page for her. Larry, verbally attacked them which we have on video. He attacked us for coming to tell him that a website and Facebook page had been set up to help get tips and information on Patti. Pattis friends had seen Larry and his friends driving around town in Pattis luxury cars. "They claim, they were doing so to help find her..." The same day Larry verbally attacked her co workers, Larry chose to move out of Pattis residence instead of cooperating with her family. Pattis family got a court order to allow them access to their mothers house. Once Pattis family got access to her house, they found it to be trashed. There were beer cans everywhere, it looked as if Larry and his friends were drinking and partying and tearing up the place instead of looking for Patti. Titles to cars were laid out on the counters, Pattis safe had been riffled through. Her safe deposit box had been emptied, her family was left with more questions then answers and a huge mess to clean up. Her co workers and family and friends came together and emptied her house of all her belongings and moved her vehicles to a safe place, so they thought. The next night, Pattis family members house where the vehicles had been moved to was shot at in a drive by shooting. We believe it was in retaliation for moving the vehicles to a safe location, but we couldn't prove it. Upon further investigation, and several threats, we found out that Larry was sleeping with multiple other woman at the time Patti went missing. Megan Heaton was the main one that has stood out. Larry and Megan moved in together. They lived together in Sedro Woolley on Railroad Avenue and we monitored their criminal activities fairly closely. We posted their drug activity online and they dated as if Patti never existed. They both have lengthy criminal records and at some point they decided to move to concrete into Larrys house. Larry ended up getting Megan Pregnant. Megan lost the baby and they split up shortly thereafter.
Larry Marries another woman:
On July 4th, 2011 Larry Officially starts dating Dawnica Mejia-Lard. Who knows how long they were seeing each other while he was still dating Megan Heaton. Just over two months later, on September 24, 2011 the two were married. This is less than 1 year after Patti went missing. Larry got in trouble and was in county jail. Dawnica, his new wife, was on DOC supervision and her CCO received information that Larry and his new wife were in DOC violation for weapons possession, drug possession and possible connections to thefts in the area as well as prostitution. The DOC did a traffic stop on Larrys new wife for DWLS and transported her back to Larry and her residence for a search for violations. (Larry was still in jail at this time). After a search of the residence, DOC came up with several drug violations, multiple stolen weapons, including one belonging to a 2004 homicide victim. Larry plead guilty to the charge of assaulting an officer and let his new wife take nearly a 12 year prison sentence for all the other violations. Larry was not charged with one single count. Larry got 3 years, his new wife, nearly 12 years. Since being incarcerated, Larry has been picked up by the US Marshals office and is currently being held in Seatac, Washington at the Federal Jail for international weapons charges, among other things.
We continue our mission:
Pattis family and friends set up weekend searches, and continued to follow up on tips. We searched multiple different locations that we were told Pattis body was dumped. Months passed, seasons changed and on October 29th, 2011 an email came in from "The keeper" stating that Patti was alive and that "The Keeper" wanted a ransom for her return. Graphic details were given as to what "The Keeper" would do to Patti if we did not comply and pay a ransom. We emailed "the keeper" and kept it private until "the Keeper" couldn't provide simple details about Patti that only they would know if they had her. We became suspicious and went to the Sheriffs office. We felt we were blown off, so we went to the media. The media got involved and they helped us get the Sheriffs office to get the FBI and their cyber crimes unit involved. We found the emails originated from Nigeria as part of a missing persons scam. Ultimately the Sheriffs Office was right, it was a scam, but we did not want to have any doubt about not following up on a tip. We couldn't live with not following up 100% on a tip. Multiple tips continued to come in and althoguh they were different they all had similarities, stating that Larry Pressley and others had murdered Patti and that her body was in a pond or body of water off of 18th street in Mount Vernon, Washington. This is less than a mile from Pattis residence. On Decemeber 31st, 2011, Pattis friends and her son, ended the last day of 2011 with a full scale search of the woods and ponds near 18th street. The media showed up, and after an exhausting search of the woods, the ponds in the area and a small canal, we came up with nothing. Tips have continued to trickle in about those involved and stating with almost certainty that Patti has been murdered. The Skagit County Sheriffs Office received tips during their investigation that her body may be stuffed in a tree stump on Alger Mountain. They silently did a small search of the area. Through public records requests we've kept current on the unrelated charges and information on those who were with Patti when she went missing. As of today, over two years have passed and Patti still hasn't been found. Her family and friends strongly suspect foul play.
2012 Brings us Hope:
The National Cue Center for missing people included us in their Road to Remember 2012 Rally. They flew in from North Carolina and did a media blitz and rally stop with us. It was great to see renewed interest in Patti case and two years later he face was on the news. It is tough to get a missing adult any media coverage to keep her name out there. We greatly appreciated everything the Cue Center did for us.
Continued Hope in 2012:
In 2012, Larry had given his power of attorney to his new wife, who was also in jail now. After being in jail for a bit and getting off of her drug addictions, she starts thinking clearly. She is MAD at Larry for letting her take a 12 year rap for things found in their house, a house they shared. Dawnica has lots of time to think. She gave her power of attorney to a friend of hers, Lori Struthers. . Lori, while looking for some of her personal belongings at the house that Larry and Dawnica shared in Concrete, Washington, found a backpack in Larrys attic. The back pack appears to contain some serious blood stains. It also appears to be the same back pack that Larry used during the hike in 2010, when Patti went missing. The back pack was given to Pattis Son and in turn he turned it over to the Skagit County Sheriffs Office for DNA testing. This new evidence brought some renewed media interest and again, Pattis name and story was on Tv. This has brought us some renewed hope once again. Larry found out his new wife was talking and co operating with FIND PATTI KRIEGER and he has since revoked her power of attorney. He gave his power of attorney to his family member, Matt Robinson, who was also on the mountain with them the day Patti went missing. Matt and the rest of Larrys relatives who were on the mountain have been less than co operative in our efforts to find Patti or her remains.
Our Frustrations:
The Skagit County Sheriffs Office, even with all the evidence we have found in the last 2+ years, for some reason are still calling Pattis case, nothing more then a missing persons case.The last person known to be with her has been charged with Multiple crimes, including drugs and weapons offenses. He was dating multiple other people at the time of her disappearance. He is a KNOWN criminal in the county. Statements from Pattis former co workers stating that Patti feared she was going to be killed by Larry and none of it seems to matter. We understand they have rules and laws to follow but it is frustrating. We will bring her home one day. Until then, we like to think she is in Maui, sitting on a beach drinking margaritas....sometimes it is easier to think that then to go over in our mind the horrible way we've been told she died.
